Benefits Overview

A total compensation plan includes top benefits.

Like your wages, Roehl benefits have real dollar and cents value. They’ll save you money on important services, reduce your taxes, protect your family financially and provide income for your retirement.

We invite you to compare Roehl’s driver benefits against those of any other trucking company. The difference you’ll find in protection and value reflects Roehl’s steadfast commitment to do right by our drivers and their families.

Eligibility for health, dental and vision insurance

Drivers requiring Safety and Job Skills Training are eligible the first day of the month following 90 days of continuous employment. Spouse employer coverage (if available) is required.

Affordable health, dental and vision insurance

Roehl is able to offer you affordable coverage because we pay the majority of the costs. We offer a choice between two different medical insurance plans, the Silver Plan and the Gold Plan. For maximum coverage in either plan, you need to use a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO).

  • If you use a provider in network, the Silver Plan pays 75% of eligible charges. The Gold plan pays 80% of eligible charges. Out of network, the Silver Plan pays 50% of eligible changes and the Gold Plan pays 60% of eligible charges.
  • Annual deductibles: Silver Plan is $1,050 for single and 2 x $1,050 for greater than single coverage. The Gold Plan is $525 single and 2 x $525 for greater than single coverage.
  • The cumulative amount of co-insurance you will pay is capped. $6,500 in network and $13,000 out of network for the calendar year with the Sliver Plan. $3,900 in network and $7,800 out of network for the calendar year with the Gold Plan.
  • Prescription drugs: Silver Plan, after a $65 deductible per person is covered with the following co-pays:
    • Tier I - Generic $12; Tier II - Brand with a negotiated price $40; Tier III - Brand $60
  • Prescription drugs: Gold Plan, after a $50 deductible per person is covered with the following co-pays:
    • Tier I - Generic $12; Tier II - Brand with a negotiated price $40; Tier III - Brand $60

  • Helps pay the expense of major detail repairs or replacement of teeth if needed.
  • Full time employees, your spouse and dependents are entitled to receive benefits under the dental plan.

Voluntary Vision Plan

  • Routine eye exams provide an opportunity for spotting systemic health problems.
  • Save hundreds of dollars per year.
  • Make a flat dollar co-payment for comprehensive exams and materials (lense, frames and contact lenses) with the plan covering the majority of the remaining costs.
  • Full time employees, your spouse and dependents are entitled to receive benefits under the vision plan.
Life Insurance
  • $10,000 basic life and $10,000 AD&D is provided for full-time employees at no cost.
Plus you have the option to purchase additional life insurance for yourself, spouse or children at a preferred rate.
Income protection other companies don’t provide

In addition to free life insurance, Roehl’s Short-Term Income Protection (STIP) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) provide financial protection most other companies do not. These plans provide a benefit if you suffer a non-occupational injury or illness that prevents you from working. Roehl is one of the few trucking companies that makes this critical benefit available to their drivers.

Profit sharing (after 1 year)

After a career of hard work, Roehl believes drivers deserve to retire with enough savings to live a good life. That’s why Roehl is one of the top trucking companies in the nation for profit-sharing contributions to driver’s tax-deferred 401(k) accounts. Average company contribution per driver depends on company results. Past years’ contributions have been up to $2,000.

401(k) retirement plan
  • Tax-deferred retirement savings
  • Multiple investment options
  • Prior 401(k) rollover available
Flex spending account (FSA)

Roehl helps you do more with your money. Flexible Spending Accounts allow you the option of using pre-tax payroll deducted monies that are set aside to pay for certain unreimbursed medical expenses and adult and child dependent care expenses. Initial enrollment must be completed during your first month of employment and will be effective for the balance of the calendar year. Save substantial tax dollars and increase your net take home pay by participating in our FSA's.
