Benefits Overview

Like your wages, Roehl benefits have real dollar and cents value. They’ll save you money on important services, reduce your taxes, protect your family financially and provide income for your retirement.

Eligibility for health, dental, vision and life insurance

Experienced over the road drivers are eligible the first day of the month following 30 consecutive days of active employment. Spouse employer coverage (if available) is required.

Affordable health, dental and vision insurance

Roehl is able to offer you affordable coverage because we pay the majority of the costs. Comprehensive benefits and affordable rates are two important components of Roehl’s total compensation plan for drivers and their families.

  • If you use a provider in our network, we’ll pay 80% of eligible charges. For non-network providers, we’ll pay up to 60% of eligible charges.
  • The deductible is $500 for individual and $1,000 per family, or single “+.”
  • We cover 100% after $3,000 of eligible in-network charges in an individual plan or $6,000 of eligible in-network charges in a family plan.
  • Prescription drugs, after a $50 deductible per person are covered with the following co-pays:
    • Tier 1—Generic $12
    • Tier 2—Brand with a negotiated price $40
    • Tier 3—Brand $60

TelaDoc Medical Services

  • TelaDoc is a national network of primary care physicians available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year who diagnose routine, non-emergency illnesses, recommend treatment, and when appropriate, prescribe medications over the telephone.
  • TelaDoc Medical Services is a program available to Roehl health insurance participants.
  • The cost per consult is $20.

Voluntary vision plan

  • Routine eye exams provide an opportunity for spotting systemic health problems.
  • Save hundreds of dollars per year.
  • You’ll make a flat dollar co-payment for comprehensive exams and materials (lenses, frames and contact lenses) with the plan covering the majority of the remaining costs.
Life insurance
  • $10,000 basic life and $10,000 AD&D is provided for full-time employees at no cost.
    Plus you have the option to purchase additional life insurance for yourself, spouse or children at a preferred rate.
Income protection other companies don’t provide

In addition to free life insurance, Roehl’s Short-Term Income Protection (STIP) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) provide financial protection most other companies do not. Financial protection in case you are unable to work due to an extended illness or injury is one of the most important types of insurance coverage you can have. Roehl is one of the few trucking companies that makes this critical benefit available to their drivers.

Profit sharing (after 1 year)

After a career of hard work, Roehl believes drivers deserve to retire with enough savings to live a good life. That’s why Roehl is one of the top trucking companies in the nation for profit-sharing contributions to driver’s tax-deferred 401(k) accounts.

Average company contribution per driver depends on company results. Past years’ contributions have been up to $2,000.
