Ready to Take Home More as an Over The Road Professional?

We have several different career options to meet your lifestyle and home time needs. Most of our driving opportunities are the traditional work of random system, long haul delivery. All of our career opportunities have specially designed pay packages that take into account the unique type of work that each fleet performs.

National Fleet Driver

Drivers in this fleet can expect to run mostly east of the Rocky Mountains. Drivers in this fleet who are away from home for seven to nine days earn two days off. If a driver runs to/from the West Coast (must have at least one year over the road driving experience), time on the road will vary from 7 to 14 days. National Fleet drivers can be dispatched anywhere in the 48 states and Canada. These driving opportunities are for Van, Flatbed, and Curtainside Fleets.

Regional Fleet Driver

We currently operate several regional fleets in various areas of the United States. Regional drivers are generally home weekly. Each of our regional fleets has specific areas where you must live to be assigned to the fleet, and each has a specific area where the majority (at least 80%) of loads pick up or deliver. Some regional fleets are available to flatbed drivers, some to van drivers, and some to both. Changing to a regional fleet will affect your pay.

Local Driver

We have several local driving opportunities. Most of them are located where our terminals are and we have several positions in high density traffic lanes. These driving opportunities may involve local pickup and delivery of freight, facility upkeep, customer interaction, and administrative and logistical support for the drivers in the National and Regional Fleets. As these opportunities become available, they are advertised or posted via the Driver line (voicemail) system. You must respond to the opportunities by the posting deadline.

HOMEtime PLUS Driver

These are flexible driving opportunities for drivers who are seeking more time at home. In our 7on, 7off program, two drivers share one truck. One driver is active in the truck while the other driver is off; the vehicle stays in continuous use with each driver running for a 7 day cycle. Our 7/4 7/3 program works similarly, with three drivers sharing two trucks, each accumulating a week off (in two periods) for every two weeks on the road. Each driver has full time status and is eligible for most company benefits. Drivers in the HOMEtime Plus fleets must be willing to commute to a specific start location to begin their duty tour.

Team Driver

Drivers who prefer working closely with another person can become Team Drivers. Teams are assigned special equipment and assigned Fleet Managers who understand the unique conditions that teams function under. Team Drivers are assigned to the National Fleet.

Some married couples find team driving an excellent way to participate in each other's life while increasing the family's income significantly. Through our Roehl Driver Training Center, and our Tuition Reimbursement Program, we can assist your spouse in obtaining his or her CDL and starting a career in our industry.

Dedicated Fleet Driver

This opportunity allows a driver to haul freight for a specific customer account that usually operates on defined freight lanes. Because of the consistent and predictable demands of this freight, drivers are able to have more predictability in their daily work life. Some examples of Dedicated Accounts at Roehl Transport are the Seasonal Granite, PDM Bridge, Bulk Cement, and Wood Chips. The specialized nature of these fleets demand that drivers have the necessary skills to haul this unique freight. Other Dedicated Accounts serve specific customers with van or flatbed equipment, such as Georgia Pacific, Sonoco, and others. Pay for dedicated driving positions varies. Dedicated Fleet Driver opportunities are advertised via the Driver line (voicemail) system.

Independent Contractor

When you're ready to try your hand at business ownership, we're ready to assist you in becoming an Independent Contractor (I/C). Our I/CI/Cs are "business partners" who enjoy the freedom of managing their own small business while continuing to benefit from our unique programs and large customer base. Our leasing program may provide you with a low cost entry into truck ownership.

Driver Trainer

The mark of a true professional is the ability to pass on to the next generation of drivers the skills he or she has mastered. You can make a contribution to our company and help improve the safety of our nation's highways by becoming a Driver Trainer - and improve your income significantly while doing so! On average a Roehl driver trainer takes home an additional $10,000 per year. Because our performance standards are high, the qualifications to become a trainer are high too. Typically a driver will qualify for this position after a year of driving for the company.

Driver Recruiter

One position that every Roehl driver qualifies for is that of Driver Recruiter, thanks to Roehl's Referral Rewards program. You can earn up to an extra $800 for each experienced driver or Owner Operator you refer and Roehl hires! Plus, you'll be entered in a drawing for a fantastic prize. You'll receive the first $350 when the driver you referred achieves 3,500 paid driving miles typically two weeks after starting with Roehl.

Non-Driver Career Opportunities

Occasionally, opportunities for nondriving jobs become available. Examples of these are: Fleet Manager, customer service assistant, orientation instructor, or safety representative.

When a nondriving job becomes available in a functional area, the job is usually posted on the employment bulletin boards as a Career Development Opportunity.

This is designed to inform you about job openings in other functional units so that you may apply if you are interested and qualified.

We encourage you to consider nondriving opportunities. We promote people on the basis of job related qualifications and merit. Because we strongly believe in the abilities of our employees, job openings are usually filled through promotions from within the company. This increases your opportunity to contribute and grow within the company.

As a driver in any of our fleets you will be the first to know about opportunities available in regional, dedicated, and national fleets. Our promote from within culture supports your dedication to the team and honors your committment to Roehl.
